A.M.S.     St. Andrew's has an active branch of the Atlantic Mission Society. "The purpose of the Society is to glorify God and to support with prayer, study and service mission endeavours through the Presbyterian Church in Canada, the Synod of the Atlantic Provinces and the Presbyteries within its bounds". The group meets on the second Saturday of the month on Saturday mornings at members' homes. The Atlantic Mission Society publishes "The Presbyterian Message" 10 times a year with news of A.M.S. activities and events, and of the mission work of the Presbyterian Church in Canada. Subscriptions are available on request. For information on the Atlantic Mission Society, including "The Presbyterian Message," see the AMS web site. LOCAL COMMUNITY OUTREACH Food Bank While non-perishable food items may be handed in at the church at any time, for delivery to the Sackville Food Bank, the first Sunday of each month is designated as FOOD BANK SUNDAY. Drew Nursing Home There are opportunities to visit residents and to volunteer at the local seniors' home. St. Andrew's also leads a short Sunday afternoon worship service in rotation with other local churches.For The United Church Home for Senior Citizens see The Drew web site. |
